Winning
Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones
Most
poker Texas Hold'em poker books are geared to the middle limit or high-stakes
player. These books can get a low limit player into a lot of trouble.
I know. It happened to me. I had read several of popular poker titles,
practiced quite a bit, and was managing to break even most sessions.
This book opened my eyes to some glaring errors I was making in the
low limit $3-$6 games I was playing in. Don't miss this if you play
low limit games in the casinos or Online. If you're looking for a gift
for an avid poker player, they'll thank you forever for this one, my
highest rated poker "how to" book.

Positively Fifth Street by Jim McManus
This is
my favorite poker story. It's the tale of journalist Jim Mcmanus' foray
into high stakes poker. A true story, McManus is commissioned by Harper's
to cover the games most illustrious tournament The World Series of
Poker. Unable to resist temptation, he risks his stipend playing
satellite tournaments in an attempt to get a seat in the "big one."
Then amazing things begin to happen. I could not put it down.
The book also has a "true crime" subplot detailing with the
Binion murder trials, and some insight into the tough women players
on the tournament circuit. Positively Fifth Street is entertaining
and well written. A must have for any true poker fan.
